Research undertaken in 2010 on behalf of IAPBD, The international Association of Professional Brochure Distributors, found that by providing leaflets in the correct places it is possible to influence what activities visitors undertake during their holiday. It also shows that visitors are influenced to extend the length of their trip:
Leaflets are the number 1 source of information for visitors during their trip:
• 76% of visitors pick up leaflets from a rack during their trip. And as a result:
• 69% planned to visit an attraction;
• 62% considered changing their travel plans;
• 58% planned to use the discount coupon;
• 43% planned to buy something;
• 34% planned to extend their stay.
